WE ALSO COVER PIGEONS, CROWS & RABBITS.
Pigeons, like rats can also carry diseases that are harmful and can be fatal to human life. They carry various fleas and mites and spread cryptococcus which is an infection from pigeon droppings, that can be fatal. Infections from droppings can even be found on unwashed fruit and vegetables that have been poorly stored where the premises have inadequate pest control measures.

Cryptococcus - The dust from droppings that get breathed in. Can be fatal to people with weaker immune systems.
E. coli - This occurs when bird droppings land in a water or food supply and are then consumed by humans
psittacosis - Can cause fever and chills, headache, muscle aches and dry coughs.
Histoplasmosis - This respiratory disease occurs as a result of a fungus growing in pigeon droppings and can be fatal.
Candidiasis - A respiratory condition caused by a fungus or yeast found in droppings. The areas affected include skin, mouth, the respiratory system, intestines and the urogenital tract, particularly in women.
West Nile virus - can cause discomfort and potentially serious health issues in humans.
Salmonella - a bacterial infection that can cause diarrhoea

Pigeon droppings are everywhere and impossible to avoid all the time. You wont put your hands in it, if you see it but just by walking around your local streets or towns, your constantly stepping in it and taking it home with you. If pigeons find a spot with plenty of food and water near by, they will nest, breed and continue to return with numbers increasing each year.

Domestic properties are difficult for shooting due to UK laws but traps can also be placed to catch them live then they are destroyed using humane methods. To simply remove them and release to another area is not adequate as it is not reducing the numbers but allowing numbers to increase, as well as spreading the infections and disease.
Restrictions apply.

A recent story where pigeons have been blamed for two deaths at a hospital. The report states that pigeons had gained access to the water tank storage area with droppings entering into the water supply, from where the infections had started from.

Crows, like pigeons can leave a mess everywhere they go causing again diseases to humans as well as wiping out crops.

Rabbits are a farmers nightmare. They destroy crops and cause hazards to stock and humans by leaving holes everywhere. Rabbits can also dig under buildings to access feed areas and containers.
